Partner (CFA, FRM, CAIA)

Thomas Ritter

Thomas Ritter is a founding partner of Multiplicity Partners. His responsibilities include the sourcing, analysis and execution of distressed investments. He co-founded the firm in 2010 and built up the firm’s execution capabilities in insolvency and fraud claims as well as in illiquid open-end funds. Thomas has more than 20 years of experience in the alternative investment industry with focus on secondary markets, portfolio management and structuring.

Prior to founding Multiplicity Partners, he worked at Horizon21 in Switzerland between 2005 and 2010 with longer assignments in Hong Kong, Cayman Islands and Bratislava, where he as one of the first employees played an important role in developing and implementing investment structures. Later he became portfolio manager for structured products. In the aftermath of the Lehman crisis, Thomas co-led the structuring and implementation of the pro-active voluntary liquidation of the entire fund-of-hedge funds business of Horizon21, one of the largest wind-downs in the industry returning in excess of USD 2.3 billion to investors. Before Horizon21, Thomas worked for the Man/RMF investment group, where he held roles in structuring, investment management and hedge fund secondary trading, and at Credit Suisse in Switzerland.

Thomas holds a MSc in Finance from the ICMA Centre, University of Reading, United Kingdom. He is a CFA and CAIA Charterholder as well as a Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
